Contemporary Abstract Ballerina Painting "Assemblé" 12"x16.5" by Contemporary Figurative Artist, Carolyn Zbavitel

This ballerina, titled "Assemblé," is acrylic on panel, 12" X 16.5."

Inspired by my niece, who attends a National Ballet school and is my muse for this series,  Assemble is a contemporary style, abstract ballerina donning her tutu and pointe shoes.

Assemblé is a French ballet term in which the dancer's feet slide and are then brought together in the air.

Go HERE for a fine art print of this painting. More sizes coming soon!

Landscape painting, North Carolina fine art, watercolor class north carolina, carolyn zbavitel art

How fun to share the art of watercolor painting with other artists and enthusiasts.  Watercolor has so many attributes depending on the intention of the artist.  You can evoke romance, bravado, mystery, simplicity, complexity, atmosphere, the list goes on forever. With so many techniques, tricks, and methods there is no end to the possibilities and this gives me much fodder to share when teaching in this medium. This week was my first lesson to a handful of students and I enjoyed sharing what I have learned along the way.  This is a journey, by the way, and as such, it's just as much fun to practice technique, sharpen skills and paint demo's. Here is one painting from our class, isn't it wonderful?

And this is my demo. If you would like to see more of my paintings, go HERE
